I Am A Geek

Here’s a cute social good initiative by Shira Lazar called “I Am A Geek” that she launched today. She got together a fun who’s who of social media to record the below video as a way of spreading the geek love while generating buzz and donations for a great cause called Room To Read.

Release of Afterquake

Received my friend Dave Liang’s email announcement regarding the release of Afterquake and wanted to share it with everyone in hopes you’ll support this awesome initiative between folk musician Abigail Washburn and The Shanghai Restoration Project.
SRP Fans,
In commemoration of the one year anniversary of the China earthquakes,
The Shanghai Restoration Project announces the release of Afterquake.
Co-produced by American folk artist Abigail Washburn and myself in
cooperation with Sichuan Quake Relief, this seven-song EP remixes
children’s voices and ambient sounds from the China earthquake zone to
raise awareness for victims still in need.

To Write Love On Her Arms

I learned about an awesome new org today. It’s called To Write Love On Her Arms. Thanks to Sarah Townsend of Social Vibe for bringing it to my attention.

To Write Love on Her Arms is a non-profit movement dedicated to presenting hope and finding help for people struggling with depression, addiction, self-injury and suicide.  TWLOHA exists to encourage, inform, inspire and also to invest directly into treatment and recovery.
