I Write For A Commie Newspaper
If you were in the business of trying to help bridge the gap between China and the West, and you had the opportunity to contribute an op/ed a few times a month to a new English language Chinese newspaper in China, would you do it?
When a well respected long time China expat asked me if I wanted to write for the new English language version of the Global Times, I said cool. Why not?
So going forward, a few times a month I’ll be sharing my opinions in the Foreigner’s View section of the Global Times. I see this as an opportunity to reach out to a 100K+ print circulation plus online readership and share cross border insight, highlight social entrepreneurs doing amazing things to change China from within and offering a perspective on things that are important to me such as empowering women. We’ll see where it goes.
In the meantime, I kept my first one light and talked about plastic bags. Get it? Kept it light? Plastic bags? That really bad pun was for Chris. Read the op/ed here.
